As the summer holidays wind down, the sporting action is heating up on the Central Coast with polytec Stadium at Gosford preparing to host SIX major events in just four weeks.
A highlight of #FabFeb will be two massive double-headers featuring the Central Coast Mariners’ men and women – the first a Heritage Round F3 Derby against arch-rival Newcastle Jets.
And with the NRL kick-off fast approaching, the Central Coast is also locked in to host two big pre-season games – hosted by the South Sydney Rabbitohs and the Sydney Roosters.
In a whirlwind of events in February;
- Saturday 1 February: A-Leagues Double-Header – the Mariners’ men and women will host Newcastle Jets in the ultimate F3 Derby. Ninja A-League women’s action from 4:50pm and Isuzu UTE A-League men from 7:35pm;
- Tuesday 11 February: Asian Champions league – the Mariners’ men will host highly-rated Malaysian Super League club Johor Darul Ta’zim FC in the Asian Champions League Elite competition. Gates open 6pm for 7pm kick-off;
- Saturday 15 February: NRL Pre-Season – South Sydney Rabbitohs v Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles. Gates open 2;30pm. Kick-off 3:30pm. The first chance Souths fans will get to see the Rabbitohs back under the mentoring of supercoach Wayne Bennett – and up against a Manly squad that knows the Central Coast well;
- Saturday 22 February: Isuzu Ute A-League men – Central Coast Mariners v Western Sydney Wanderers. Family-friendly 5pm kick-off;
- Sunday 23 February: NRL Pre-Season – Sydney Roosters v Newcastle Knights. Two grades with gates opening at 12:45pm, NSW Cup from 1pm, NRL from 3:15pm. The Roosters back at their second home with a long history on the Central Coast; Newcastle Knights fans with just a short drive south to see their team in action;
- Friday 28 February: A-Leagues Double-Header – the Mariners women take on Western Sydney Wanderers from 4:50pm; the Mariners men facing Western United from 7:35pm.
